Oldster's Day Issued on Sept. 15, 1968 (Showa43) In September 1968 (Showa 43), a "Toshiyori no Hi" (Oldster's Day )stamp was issued in Okinawa. The Toshiyori no Hi, which began in Hyogo Prefecture in 1947, has spread nationwide, and the week from September 15th to 21st has been designated as "Toshiyori no Hi" in Okinawa. Later, after "Oldster's Day", it developed into "Respect for the Aged Day" which is a national holiday. The stamp was issued in commemoration of this week and depicts the old man's dance (Kajadifubushi). Reference: Free encyclopedia "Wikipedia" 2022.3
