Cultural Treasures Protection Week Issued on Nov. 1, 1968 (Showa43)

Cultural Treasures Protection Week Issued on Nov. 1, 1968 (Showa43) In Okinawa, various activities are being carried out for the purpose of promoting the protection of cultural properties of the ancient Ryukyu Kingdom. This time, "Benzaitendo" was adopted as a stamp. Benzaiten is a red tiled hall in the center of the pond in front of Engakuji Temple, and enshrines Benzaiten, the goddess of water that protects voyage safety. It was destroyed in the Pacific War in 1945, but was restored in 1968. A stamp was issued in commemoration of this, and the Bentai Tendo is drawn. Reference: Free encyclopedia "Wikipedia" 2022.3
