沖縄本島・先島間UHF回線開通 1969（昭和44年） 7月 1日発行 1969年（昭和44）7月、沖縄放送協会（OHK）は、那覇本局から受信が困難な地域にUHFの回線を繋げるために中継局を設置した。UHF回線は、沖縄本島の南方から宮古島を経由して石垣島までを結ぶ通信回線で、2,000メガヘルツ帯のUHF電波を採用した。切手は、沖縄本島ー先島間でUHF回線が繋がった記念として1969年7月1日に発行され、巨大角型アンテナと沖縄本島、先島諸島の地図がデザインされている。 参考；沖縄放送協会ホームページ資料
Opening of UHF Circuit System Issued on Jul. 1, 1969 (Showa44) In July 1969 (Showa 44), the Okinawa Broadcasting Corporation (OHK) installed a relay station to connect the UHF line to areas where reception from the Naha main station was difficult. The UHF line is a communication line that connects the southern part of the main island of Okinawa to Ishigaki Island via Miyako Island, and adopted UHF radio waves in the 2,000 MHz band.
