Since the Ryukyu Kingdom era, Okinawa has created traditional entertainment while being influenced by China, Japan, and Southeast Asia. Okinawan traditional performing arts can be divided into "court performing arts" and "folk performing arts". Of these, folk entertainment is performed at annual events and festivals in Okinawa.
