Group Dance Series Issued on 1970 (Showa45)

Group Dance Series Issued on 1970 (Showa45) Kumi Odori is an Okinawan drama that premiered in 1719. Tamagusuku Chokun of the Ryukyu Kingdom at that time was impressed by the traditional Japanese performing arts, Kyogen, Kabuki, and Joruri, and created a simple performing art that suits the climate of Okinawa. Four typical Kumi Odori stamps were adopted, and small sheets were issued at the same time. Reference: "Japanese Stamp Special Catalog / Japan-related Areas" 2012 P45
