海洋シリーズ 1972年（昭和47年）発行 沖縄の海が美しいのは、その面する海流が日本海流とも呼ばれる黒潮海流であるため。黒潮は、貧栄養でプランクトンが少ないのが特徴。 また、海流の流れも速いので、海水がにごりにくく透き通っている。 これらが沖縄の海が限りなく透明であることの大きな要因となっている。切手は沖縄の美しい海の絶景スポットを3か所デザインして発行された。
Ocean Series Issued on 1972(Showa47) The ocean in Okinawa is beautiful because the current facing it is the Kuroshio Current, also known as the Japan Current. The Kuroshio is characterized by oligotrophic and low plankton. In addition, the current of the ocean current is fast, so the seawater is not turbid and clear. These are the major factors that make the sea of Okinawa infinitely transparent. The stamps were issued by designing three scenic spots on the beautiful sea of Okinawa.
