動植物シリーズ 1959年（昭和34年）8月10日発行 1959年の米ドル通貨変更後、暫定的に発行されたドル表示切手に代わって、第1次動植物シリーズ切手がドル標記で発行された。日本本土でも切手デザインが動植物等に入れ替わったこともあり、沖縄郵政庁に採用されたと考えられる。この当時の沖縄切手はほとんどが大蔵省印刷局で製作された。
Flora and Fauna Series Issued on Aug. 10 , 1959 (Showa34) After the change in the US dollar currency in 1959, the first animal and plant Leeds stamps were issued in dollar notation in place of the provisionally issued dollar stamps. It is thought that the stamp design was adopted by the Okinawa Post Office because the stamp design was replaced with animals and plants in mainland Japan. Most of the Okinawa stamps at that time were produced by the Printing Bureau of the Ministry of Finance.
