大仏航空切手 1953（昭和28年）8月15日 発行 1953年（昭和28）7月、外国郵便料金の改正が行われ、同年8月に新しい航空切手4種（70円、80円、115円、145円）が発行された。デザインは鎌倉大仏と飛行機、そして背景に富士山が描かれている。しかし、この後、航空便による国内郵送に問題が生じるようになってきた。大都市における航空便は、通常の速達郵便より遅くなる場合があり、その場合の料金も、速達便のほうが安い場合があるという矛盾が生じた。そのような理由から、郵政省は1953年11月、日本国内の航空郵便制度を廃止した。
Great Buddha Air Mail Stamps Issued on Aug. 15, 1951 (Showa26)
In July 1953 (Showa 28), foreign postage stamps were revised, and four new airmail stamps (70 yen, 80 yen, 115 yen, 145 yen) were issued in August of the same year.
The design depicts the Great Buddha of Kamakura, an airplane, and Mt. Fuji in the background. However, after this, problems began to arise in domestic mailing by airmail. There was a contradiction that airmail in big cities may be slower than regular express mail, and in that case, express delivery may be cheaper. For that reason, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications announced in November 1953 that JapanThe domestic airmail system was abolished.
