世界人形劇フェスティバル 1988年（昭和63年） 7月 27日発行 世界人形劇フェスティバルは1961年に設立された。このファスティバルは、世界の人形劇のための国際的なイベントであり、2年に1度行われる。世界から約250の企業が集まり、創作人形劇を15万人以上の観客に披露する。そこでの技術は、人形を使った伝統的なものから鞘や糸、さらに現代的な革新、人形劇、そして影の劇場まで多岐にわたる。切手は、１９８８年に東京で開催されたこのイベントを記念して発行され、世界の人形４作品が紹介されている。
World Puppetry Festival Issued on July 27, 1988 (Showa 63) The World Puppet Festival was founded in 1961. This festival is an international event for puppet shows around the world and takes place every two years. About 250 companies from all over the world will gather to showcase their creative puppet show to more than 150,000 spectators. The techniques there range from traditional puppets to pods and threads, to modern innovations, puppet shows, and shadow theaters. The stamp was issued in commemoration of this event held in Tokyo in 1988, and introduces four dolls from around the world.
