国立歴史民族博物館開館 1983年（昭和58年） 3月 16日発行 国立歴史民俗博物館は、大学における学術研究の発展及び資料の公開等一般公衆に対する教育活動のための大学共同利用機関として1981年4月に設置され、調査研究成果を展示する博物館として、1983年3月から一般公開された。切手は、その公開を記念して発行され、歴史民俗博物館とデザイン文字が描かれている。

The National Museum of Japanese History and Folklore was established in April 1981 as a university joint-use institution for educational activities for the general public, such as the development of academic research at universities and the disclosure of materials. It was opened to the public from the month.
The stamp was issued to commemorate its release and has a museum of history and folklore and design letters.
