幼稚園100年 1976年（昭和51年） 11月 16日発行 幼稚園の歴史は、1876年(明治9年)の東京女子師範学校附属幼稚園(現在のお茶の水女子大学附属幼稚園)の創設が始まりとされている。現在の幼稚園の基礎が築かれるのは、終戦後、1947年(昭和22年)に「学校教育法」が制定され、幼稚園も学校教育機関として位置づけられるようになってからである。切手は、日本の幼稚園制度創設100年を記念して発行され、「幼稚鳩巣遊戯の図（幼児の遊戯）」がデザインされている。
Kindergarten Centenary Issued on Nobember 16, 1976 (Showa 51) The history of the kindergarten is said to have started in 1876 (Meiji 9) with the establishment of the kindergarten attached to Tokyo Women's Normal School (currently the kindergarten attached to Ochanomizu University). The foundation of the current kindergarten is laid after the end of the war, when the "School Education Law" was enacted in 1947 (Showa 22), and the kindergarten was also positioned as a school education institution. The stamp is issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Japanese kindergarten system, and is designed with "Kindergarten Pigeon's Nest Game".
