Expo'75 Okinawa Issued on July 19, 1975 (Showa 50) In July 1975, the Okinawa International Ocean Expo was held for 183 days in Motobucho, Kunigami-gun, Okinawa Prefecture, as a commemorative project for Okinawa's return to mainland Japan. By holding this exposition in Okinawa, the development of social infrastructure has progressed significantly. The current Okinawa Expressway section development and national highway widening were promoted for the event, and tourist facilities such as large hotels were constructed.In commemoration of this exposition, three kinds of stamps and a small sheet were issued, and Okinawa dance and Bingata, as well as the earth and aquapolis were designed.
