第61回列国議会同盟 1974年（昭和49年） 10月 1日発行 列国議会同盟（IPU）は、1889年にスイスで創立された。現在166の加盟国と7の準加盟国があり、国際政治問題（紛争等）や国際福祉援助等について定例会議が開催されている。切手は、1974年10月の同会議日本開催を記念して発行され、20円切手は世界地図と日本の国会議事堂、50円切手は、川端龍子画「愛染」がデザインされている。

The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) was founded in Switzerland in 1889. Currently, there are 166 member countries and 7 associate member countries, and regular meetings are held on international political issues (conflicts, etc.) and international welfare assistance. The stamp was issued in commemoration of the conference held in Japan in October 1974. The 20-yen stamp is designed with a world map and the Japanese Parliament Building, and the 50-yen stamp is designed with Kawabata Ryuko's "Aizen".
