Centenary of the Postal Services. Issued on April 20, 1971 (Showa 46) Japan's postal system was founded in 1871 (Meiji 4), and in 1877 it joined the Universal Postal Union and established an international communication network by mail. As stamps commemorating the postal system, during Ministry of Communications, 1921 commemorated the 50th anniversary of the founding the postal service, 1927 commemorated the 50th anniversary of the membership the Universal Postal Union, and 1946 after the war commemorated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the postal service.I issued a stamp. After that, during the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, stamps were issued in 1951 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the postal service, in 1961 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the postal service, and this time to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the postal system.Three types of stamps were issued this time. Mailboxes, mail carriers, and railroad mail sorting operations are designed.
