郵便創業100年 1971年（昭和46年） 4月 20日発行 日本の郵便制度は1871年（明治4年）に創始され、1877年に万国郵便連合に加盟して国際通信網を確立した。郵便制度を記念する切手として、逓信省時代には1921年に郵便創始50年記念、1927年に万国郵便連合加盟50年記念、戦後1946年に郵便創始75年記念切手を発行した。、その後、郵政省時代に、1951年に郵便創始80年記念、1961年に郵便創始90年記念、そして今回、郵便制度100年記念切手を発行した。今回の切手は3種類発行され、郵便ポスト、郵便配達員、鉄道郵便の仕分け作業がデザインされている。
