第２１回国民体育大会 1966年（昭和41年）10月23日発行
第21回国民体育大会は、1966年に大分県（夏季大会、秋季大会）、岩手県（冬季大会スケート競技）、北海道（冬季大会スキー競技）を会場に開催された。因みに、この大会には初めて「剛健」というネーミングが付けられた。これは華美になりすぎた国民体育大会の原点回帰を促すものだった。
切手はこの大会を記念して発行され、三段跳びとクレー射撃がデザインされている。

The 21st National Athletic Meet was held in 1966 in Oita Prefecture (Summer Games, Autumn Games), Iwate Prefecture (Winter Games), and Hokkaido (Winter Games).
By the way, the name "Gohken" was added to this tournament for the first time. The meaning is'to cherish quality and do it spartanly'. This encouraged the return to the origin of the National Sports Festival, which became too gorgeous.Stamps were issued to commemorate the tournament and are designed with a triple jump and clay pigeon shooting.
