第25回海の記念日 1965年（昭和40年）7月20日発行
1995年7月、海の記念日が制定された。海の日は日本の休日の一つである。制定当初は7月20日だったが、2003年に改正された祝日法のハッピーマンデー制度により、7月の第三月曜日となった。
切手は、その制定を記念して発行され、明治丸とウミネコがデザインされている。
25th Anniv. of Maritime Day Issued on July 20, 1965 (Showa 40) In July 1995, Marine Day was enacted. Marine Day is one of the holidays in Japan. It was originally enacted on July 20, but it became the third Monday of July due to the Happy Monday system of the Holiday Law revised in 2003. Stamps are issued to commemorate the enactment, and designed by Meijimaru and Black-tailed Gull.
