富士山頂気象レーダー完成 1965年（昭和40年）3月10日発行
1965年3月、富士山頂に気象レーダーが設置された。設置理由は、1959年の伊勢湾台風で、死者・行方不明者5,000名の大災害となったため、大型台風被害を予防する目的で気象庁が大型レーダーを設置することとなったためである。このレーダーは、予報技術の進化により役割を終え、1999年に撤去された。
切手は、富士山頂気象レーダーがデザインされている。
Weather Reader on Mt.Fuji Issued on March 10, 1965 (Showa 40) In March 1965, a weather radar was installed on the summit of Mt. Fuji. The reason for the installation was that the 1959 Isewan Typhoon caused a catastrophic disaster of 5,000 dead and missing, so the Japan Meteorological Agency installed a weather radar on the highest peak of Mt. Fuji in order to prevent damage from large typhoons. The radar ended its role due to advances in meteorological technology ,It removed in 1999. The stamp is designed by Mt. Fuji weather radar.
