第１９回国民体育大会 1964年（昭和39年）6月6日発行
1964年6月、第19回国民体育大会は新潟県を中心に開催された。この年は東京オリンピックが10月に開催されるため、秋季大会を早めて6月から開催した。しかし、8月の夏季大会は、新潟地震発生のため中止となった。
切手は、この大会を記念して発行され、ハンドボールと平均台がデザインされている。
19th National Athletic Meet Issued on June 6, 1964 (Showa 39) In June 1964, the 19th National Athletic Meet was held mainly in Niigata Prefecture. Since the Tokyo Olympic Games will be held in October this year, the autumn Games were held earlier in June. However, the August Summer Games were canceled due to the Niigata earthquake. Stamps are issued in commemoration of this tournament, and handball and balance beam are designed.
