北陸トンネル開通 1962年（昭和37年） 6月10日発行 北陸トンネルは、福井県敦賀市と越前町にまたがる伏線鉄道トンネルである。北陸本線の敦賀～南今庄駅間、木ノ芽峠の下に位置する。総延長は13,870mである。郵政省はこの開通を記念して1962年6月に記念切手を発行した。この切手は、開通したトンネルと特急列車「白鳥」の数か所にデザインのミスが指摘された。
Completion of Hokuriku Tunnel Issued on June 10, 1962 (Showa 37) The Hokuriku Tunnel is a foreshadowing railway tunnel that straddles Tsuruga City and Echizen Town in Fukui Prefecture. It is located under the Kinome Pass between Tsuruga and Minami-Imajo Stations on the Hokuriku Main Line. The total length is 13,870 m. The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued a commemorative stamp in June 1962 to commemorate the opening. Design mistakes were pointed out in a part of the tunnel and in several places of the limited express train "Hakucho (SWAN)".
