第15回ガット東京総会 1959年（昭和34年）11月2日発行 GATT(Genaral Agreement on Tariffs and Trade)は、関税及び貿易に関する一般協定であり、加盟国間の自由な国際貿易の促進を目的とする。1948年ジュネーブで調印され、日本は、1955年加盟した。その後、1995年にWTO（国際貿易機関）に承継された。切手は、1959年に東京で開催された「GATT総会」を記念して発行され、地球とGATT文字がデザインされている。
15th GATT Session in Tokyo Issued on November 2, 1959 (Showa 34) GATT (Genaral Agreement on Tariffs and Trade) is a general agreement on tariffs and trade, which aims to promote free international trade between member states. It was signed in Geneva in 1948 and Japan joined in 1955. Then, in 1995, it was succeededto the WTO (World Trade Organization).The stamp was issued in commemoration of theGATT General Assembly held in Tokyo in 1959, and is designed with the earth and commemorative letters.
