関門トンネル開通 1958年（昭和33年） 3月 9日発行 関門トンネルは、関門海峡を海底貫通して日本の本州と九州を結ぶ鉄道用トンネルである。旧日本国有鉄道（現在JR九州）山陽本線下関駅から門司駅間に所在する単線トンネル2本で構成され、下り線トンネルは、全長3,614ｍ、上り線トンネルは、全長3,605ｍ。切手は、開通時の関門トンネルの断面イラストがデザインされている。
Completion of Kanmon Tunnel Issued on March 9, 1958 (Showa 33) The Kanmon Tunnel is a railway tunnel that runs through the Kanmon Strait on the seabed and connects Honshu and Kyushu in Japan.It consists of two single-line tunnels located between Shimonoseki Station and Moji Station on the Sanyo Main Line of the former Japanese National Railways (currently JR Kyushu). The down line tunnel has a total length of 3,614.04 m, and the up line tunnel has a total length of 3,604.6 m. The stamp is designed with a cross-sectional illustration of the Kanmon Tunnel at the time of opening.
