Completion of Kanmon Tunnel Issued on March 9, 1958 (Showa 33) The Kanmon Tunnel is a railway tunnel that runs through the Kanmon Strait on the seabed and connects Honshu and Kyushu in Japan.It consists of two single-line tunnels located between Shimonoseki Station and Moji Station on the Sanyo Main Line of the former Japanese National Railways (currently JR Kyushu). The down line tunnel has a total length of 3,614.04 m, and the up line tunnel has a total length of 3,604.6 m. The stamp is designed with a cross-sectional illustration of the Kanmon Tunnel at the time of opening.
