Philatelic Week Issued on November 1, 1955 (Showa 30) In November 1955 (Showa 30), the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued one type of stamp for "Stamp Hobby Week".The design is Utamaro Kitagawa, an ukiyo-e artist, "Young Lady Blowing a Bidro". Since multicolor gravure printing became possible around this time, large stamps with a width of 33 mm and a height of 48 mm surprised not only Japan but also the world. Since then, "Stamp Hobby Week" stamps have been issued for about 10 years with the theme of Ukiyo-e.
