東京天文台75年記念 1953年（昭和28年）10月29日発行
1953年（昭和28年）10月、郵政省は東京天文台創設75年の記念切手１種を発行した。
東京天文台は、東京大学附置研究所であったが、1988年（昭和63年）文部省（現、文部科学省）直轄の研究機関「 国立天文台 」になった。 東京 天文台 は1878年（明治11年）東京大学理学部の観象台として設立され、1888年に改組され東京天文台となった。
Tokyo Observatrey 75th Anniversary Issued on October 29, 1953
In October 1953 (Showa 28), the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued a kind of commemorative stamp for the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Tokyo Observatory.The Tokyo Astronomical Observatory was a research institute attached to the University of Tokyo, but in 1988 (Showa 63) it became the "National Astronomical Observatory", a research institute under the direct control of the Ministry of Education (currently the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology).
The Tokyo Observatory was established in 1878 (Meiji 11) as an observatory for the Faculty of Science at the University of Tokyo, and was reorganized in 1888 to become the Tokyo Observatory.
