UPU加盟75年 1949年（昭和24年）10月10日発行 万国郵便連合（UPU）は、1874年（明治7年）に創設された。1947年（昭和22年）パリで開催された第12回UPU国際会議で、加盟国による75周年記念切手の発行が決議されたため、郵政省は1949年（昭和24年）10月、記念切手4種（国内用2種、海外用2種）を発行した。
75th Anniv. of U.P.U Issued on October 10, 1949 (Showa 24) The Universal Postal Union (UPU) was founded in 1874 (Meiji 7). At the 12th UPU International Conference held in Paris in 1947 (Showa 22), it was resolved that member countries would issue stamps commemorating the 75th anniversary.In October 1949 (Showa 24), the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued four types of commemorative stamps (two types for domestic use and two types for overseas use).
