超プレミアム切手の「昭和天皇御婚儀切手」（不発行）の3銭と20銭を新たに入手しました。
50年以上に亘り切手蒐集していますが、今回は、3銭と既に入手している20銭の美品が手に入りましたので新たに掲載します。
蒐集家の方はご存じですが、この切手は昭和天皇の結婚式を1923年（大正12）11月に控えて製造されたものです。ところが、この年の9月1日に関東大震災が発生し、切手と原版が焼失した為、発行が止むを得ず中止されました。しかし、当時日本の信託統治領だった南洋諸島のパラオ（コロール島）南洋庁舎に一部の切手を送っていたため、それら4種（1.5銭、3銭、8銭、20銭）約1000組を急遽日本本土に送り返し、皇室関係者に記念として配布しました。
未使用切手が4種残っているのは、その一部が外部（蒐集家）に流出された為です。当博物館ではまだ8銭を入手できていません。どなたかお譲り下さる方がいらっしゃればお知らせください。

I recently acquired two ultra-rare stamps known as the “Emperor Shōwa Wedding Commemorative Stamps” (unissued), in the 3 sen and 20 sen denominations.

Having collected stamps for over 50 years, I am especially excited about this addition. I already owned a fine example of the 20 sen, and now with the newly obtained 3 sen, I’m pleased to share them here.

As many collectors may know, these stamps were originally produced in anticipation of Emperor Shōwa’s wedding, scheduled for November 1923 (Taishō 12). However, on September 1 of that year, the Great Kantō Earthquake struck, destroying both the completed stamps and their printing plates. As a result, the issue had to be canceled.

Fortunately, some copies had already been sent to the South Seas Bureau in Koror, Palau—then part of Japan’s South Pacific mandate. These were hastily recalled to Japan and presented as mementos to members of the Imperial Household. Approximately 1,000 sets of four denominations (1.5 sen, 3 sen, 8 sen, and 20 sen) are believed to have survived. The reason unused examples of all four values still exist today is that a small portion eventually found its way into collectors’ hands. At our museum, we have yet to acquire the 8 sen value.
